Work Training Stipends

Finding stable employment is essential step in to stopping the cycle of incarceration. Yet men and women re-entering the community after a period of incarceration are faced with multiple barriers to employment.

Often people are not able to go back to the same line of work they were in prior to incarceration. It is very difficult to get a job after a lapse in employment particularly if they don’t have sufficient training.

That’s why it is extremely helpful to provide stipends to individuals attending training programs that prepare them for work in fields that are open to people with a prior conviction. For example: agricultural jobs and building trades etc.
